Frequently Asked Questions
**Club:ID is currently in development. The answers below reflect the current product direction and may be updated as hardware, connectivity, and app specifications are finalized.
What is Club:ID?
Club:ID is a golf-specific system being developed to help golfers protect the clubs in their bag.
The goal is to help golfers know when a protected club has been left behind and provide useful information that can assist with locating it.
How does Club:ID work?
Club:ID uses a compact tracker attached to each protected golf club and a companion mobile app.
The system is being designed to monitor individual club status and notify golfers when a protected club becomes separated from them.
Does Club:ID use GPS?
Club:ID is currently being developed around Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology rather than placing a GPS receiver inside every individual club tracker.
The final connectivity architecture and product specifications are still being evaluated and may change as development and prototype testing continue.
Where does the Club:ID tracker attach?
The current Club:ID design attaches to the butt end of the golf club grip.
This placement is intended to keep the tracker compact and unobtrusive while allowing it to work across different types of golf clubs.
Final dimensions and attachment details may change before production.
What happens if I leave a club behind?
Club:ID is being designed to recognize when a protected club becomes separated from the golfer and provide an alert through the Club:ID mobile app.
The goal is to notify the golfer early enough to retrieve the club before traveling too far away.
What is a separation alert?
A separation alert is intended to notify the golfer when a Club:ID-protected club moves outside the expected proximity of the golfer’s phone.
Final alert behavior, range, timing, and sensitivity will be determined through prototype testing.
What is Last Seen?
Last Seen is intended to show where and when the Club:ID system last detected or recorded a protected club.
If an alert is missed, this information may provide a useful place to begin retracing your steps.
Can Club:ID guarantee that I will recover a lost club?
No.
Club:ID is designed as a loss-prevention and recovery-assistance tool, but it cannot guarantee the recovery of a lost, stolen, misplaced, or forgotten golf club.
Club:ID performance may be affected by distance, connectivity, battery condition, mobile device settings, environmental conditions, interference, and the final production design.
Does every golf club need its own Club:ID tracker?
Club:ID is being designed so individual clubs can be protected and identified separately.
Golfers may choose to protect their entire bag or focus on specific clubs that are particularly valuable or easy to leave behind, such as wedges and putters.
What types of golf clubs can Club:ID protect?
Club:ID is being developed for use across a golfer’s bag, including:
Drivers
Fairway woods
Hybrids
Irons
Wedges
Putters
Final compatibility will depend on the production attachment design.
How is Club:ID powered?
The tracker is being developed as a compact, battery-powered device.
Final battery type, expected battery life, replacement procedure, and power specifications will be announced after product development and testing are completed.
Do I need the Club:ID mobile app?
The Club:ID mobile app is being developed as the primary way golfers will interact with their protected clubs.
The app is intended to provide features such as:
Club status
Separation alerts
Battery information
Last-seen information
Individual club identification
Lost Mode and recovery features
Final app functionality may change during development.
Will Club:ID work if my phone is not nearby?
The final operating behavior is still being determined as part of product development and testing.
More information about phone requirements, background operation, connectivity, and range will be provided once the production system is finalized.
How far away can a club be before I receive an alert?
The final alert distance has not yet been determined.
Bluetooth performance can vary depending on the phone, golf course environment, surrounding objects, signal interference, and other conditions.
Club:ID’s final alert thresholds will be determined through real-world prototype testing.
Can I monitor multiple clubs at the same time?
Club:ID is being designed around multi-club protection, allowing golfers to monitor multiple individually protected clubs through the same app.
Final device limits and account specifications will be announced later in development.
Is Club:ID available for purchase now?

The current renders represent Club:ID’s present design direction and intended user experience.
Physical dimensions, materials, attachment methods, colors, electronics, and other production details may change through engineering and prototype testing.
Is Club:ID waterproof?
Final water-resistance and durability specifications have not yet been established.
These specifications will be determined through hardware design, prototype development, and testing before production.
What phones will Club:ID support?
The Club:ID app is being developed with the intention of supporting modern smartphones.
Final Android and iPhone compatibility requirements will be announced as the app and hardware integration are completed.
